The Tabelina symbol is a majestic dragonfly in the shape of a woman’s body with the heart in the place of the head because women think with their hearts . The woman in the logo follows her heart to manifest her dreams because she knows that only through the power of the heart do dreams really come true! This empowered woman thinks with her heart, discerns with her mind, and lives from the very core of her being at all times. Our lives, like the lives of the dragonfly, are but a fleeting moment in time… so we must dream without limitation, live with intensity and authenticity, and fly like the Tabelina!
My Story:
My name is Isabel Cancela, and I founded Tabelina in 2011 when I decided to embrace my authentic self and follow one of my greatest dreams – creating easy to wear, totally unique handbags and jewelry for women. With nature and art as my inspiration, I combine classic form and function with progressive twists making all of the products I create complimentary to any individual style or unique look. The special dragonfly symbol of the Tabelina logo is based on the beautiful form of a woman with her heart in the place of her mind. This meaningful logo is thoughtfully present in each and every design as a reminder and an inspiration to dream, live, and fly!
I was born and raised in Cuba, and immigrated to the U.S. at a young age.. As I grew into college age years, I embarked on a full time job in business and put all of my talent and energy in to creating a great career for myself so that I could care for my family and for my own goals. Eventually, my dreams of creativity and manifestation surfaced and in 2011 when I took a leap of faith and started Tabelina. After two marriages, four beautiful children, and 40 years of living life to its fullest, I have now fully embraced my authentic self and have started creating the things that I have always dreamt of.
‘Tabelina’ is the nickname given to me by my maternal grandmother, and this name evokes memories, lessons, and inspiration from a strong woman who taught me to dream, believe, and work for what I want in life. Tabelina has been affectionately named in honor of my sweet grandmother.
